Sean Fournier

By Kieran Lewis

This week’s song of the week is Sean Fournier with “Broken Stereo (Acoustic)” from the EP Oh My which features six songs such as “Holding The Hand Of The Hurricane” and “Falling For You (Piano Version)”.

Fournier is from Connecticut and the quality of his music is exceptionally high. This album is available for free download here.

However, this EP is only a taste of what he has to offer. He has also released two full length albums which are for sale. Oh My was a free download so that his music could reach out to a bigger audience and appeal to the masses.

For all his hard work, we award Sean Fournier with five stars out of five.

McEvilly Jones

7:30 pm in Music by Yidso

By Kieran Lewis

The song of the week for this week is McEvilly Jones with “What I Need” – the reason we picked this is because it is a deeply emotional song and to be quite honest it pulled a few heartstrings. Over the next few weeks you will also hear three other songs by this group, so look out for “Best Of Me”, “Original” and “One You Lost”.

Now, to explain more about the group. From Manchester, the group is made up of Rebecca and Stu. Rebecca is on vocals while Stu has learnt a variety of instruments and has been in lots of different bands. They are passionate about music and this is summed up very nicely on their website.

“They make a perfect team, each bringing their own unique expertise to the table, whilst sharing an intense passion for creating music that they love.”

We must also take this opportunity to apologise, based on this tweet from earlier.

“Missed our own first ever air play our music because our internet’s playing up :( either that or an error on the station… poop!”

However, we don’t think that it was anything to do with our station.

Mathew Petit

By Kieran Lewis

The song of the week from today (22nd April 2011) until next Friday (29th April 2011) is ‘Hands’ by Mathew Petit; a catchy and energetic self-written song which was released only in the last few weeks. The main purpose of this post is to introduce you to the artist – Mathew Petit.

‘Hands’ is not his only song. In fact there are a few others such as ‘Me and You’ and ‘Love and Let Love.’ His main inspirations are Kate Nash and Ellie Goulding; an amazing mixture which works in his songs. In June/July he will be releasing his debut album; an EP which will be free to download featuring ‘Hands’ and a few other songs.

This guy has a lot to offer through his excellent music and has a bright future ahead of him.
